Tombola raises money for the Grantham Journal Chidlren's Fund Summer Sizzler Appeal.

Huge thanks go to this kind group of fund-raisers who are backing the Journal’s Summer Sizzler Appeal.

Thanks to the efforts of Micky Stokes, Glynis Harrison, Josie Goldsboro, Sarah Needham, Mary Teesman and Barry Stokes, £121 has been added to the fund.

That amount secures a place for an adult/child on the all-expenses paid trip to Legoland Windsor on August 22, being organised under the umbrella of the Grantham Journal Children’s Fund, which supports families with a disabled child.

The group raised the money by holding a tombola in the Isaac Newton Shopping Centre on Friday.

Micky, a trustee of the Grantham Disabled Children Society, said: “We’re very proud to support the appeal.”

The entire GDCS group has given the appeal wonderful support, including fellow trustee Kaz Smith and daughter Nic. They are helping to organise a 1980s night at the Black Dog pub, in Watergate, Grantham, on June 13. As well as plenty of ‘80s music, there will be barbecue food and the drawing of a raffle.

Raffle tickets have been selling well for several weeks, thanks to the long list of great prizes up for grabs. They include: a pamper package at Living Health worth £140, a meal for two at the Urban Hotel Grantham, voucher for Susan Bird’s, cut and finish at Indulge Hair, manicure courtesy of Sparkle M Nails, cut and dry at Gerard’s, bottles of spirits, all-day breakfast at Market Cafe, voucher to spend at Oscar’s Wine Bar, go-karting, meal for four at the Tawny Owl, family pass to Burghley House, family pass to Belton House, family pass to Grimsthorpe Castle, family pass to Rushmoor Country Park, Doddington Hall pass, Nene Valley Railway pass, Natureland family pass, Barnsdale Gardens pass, two tickets to Hall Farm, tickets to Grantham Bowl, Fun Farm vouchers, family pass to a parrot zoo, passes to Crazy Bongos, swimming at Sleaford, Domino Pizza voucher, passes to Darmon’s Funhouse, a friendship ball courtesy of Glen Esk, perfume sets, Jack Wills sets, a nail polish set, boxes of Thorntons chocolates, Belvoir Farm cordial set, food hamper, salt and pepper mills, a Peruna handbag and a bouquet from Helen’s Flowers.
