Apartments planned on site of former Grantham workshop

A planning application has been submitted to South Kesteven District Council to convert the site of a former joinery yard on Stuart Street into five apartments.

The site, known as Baxters Yard, is situated between 33 and 39 Stuart Street, and surrounded by existing terraced houses.

Developers Plan-It Design propose to demolish the existing workshop and associated buildings before building two single bedroom apartments and three flats with two bedrooms. They also intend to create five parking spaces.

In the design and access statement submitted with the application for outline planning consent, the developers state: “The design has been evolved to minimize impact upon adjoining properties by reason of overshadowing, daylight and privacy loss.”
