Appeal for witnesses after woman assaulted in front of children in Grantham street

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man assaulted a woman infront of two children in Grantham.

The assault took place in the Trent Road area between 3.30pm and 4.15pm on Saturday, June 4.

The man and woman were seen having a domestic dispute by Gala Bingo on Venture Way in front of the children, one of whom was in a pushchair. The woman was assaulted during the incident but was not seriously injured.

A 37-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of assault in connection with the incident and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Police would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this incident or has any information in relation to it. Contact the police on the non-emergency number 101 quoting incident 300 of June 4. Alternatively contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
