Attempted robbery at Grantham bookmakers

Police are searching for three offenders involved in an attempted robbery at a Grantham bookmakers in the early hours of yesterday morning.

At around 1am on Tuesday, three offenders, all believed to be men, forced entry into Mark Jarvis on Edinburgh Road/Harrowby Lane.

Two went behind the counter while the third stood lookout at the door. The two behind the counter attempted to gain entry to the safe but were unsuccessful and after being inside for one minute, the three left without stealing anything.

Once outside, offenders have left in the direction of Harrowby, however, the exact direction of travel is not known. At present there is no description available of the vehicle that may have been used by offenders.

Police are appealing for information and witnesses and officers investigating the incident would like to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time and might have seen or heard anything in relation to the incident, or anyone who thinks they may have any relevant information.
