Lincolnshire police are asking residents in rural areas around Grantham to keep an eye out for any activity related to hare coursing.

Police Community Support Officer Stuart Bowden said: “The autumn season has arrived and with it comes the time of year where hare coursing becomes more common place.

“Previous experience in the rural communities around Boston has demonstrated to me that no one knows the countryside better than the communities themselves and they are best placed to notice unfamiliar people, vehicles and suspicious activities.”

PCSO Bowden added that in particular number plates of vehicles suspected of hare coursing are useful for police investigations.

Anyone who sees anything they believe could be related to hare coursing are asked to contact the police on 101.
