A COUPLE had the best New Year present they could have hoped for when their baby arrived at just two minutes into 2011.

Cat and Matt Taylor, of Brittain Drive, Grantham, did not plan for their son Flynn to be born on New Year’s Day but they are pleased he was.

Cat said: “It makes it even more special.”

Flynn was due on January 4, so the thought of a New Year baby did not even cross their minds until the day before, when Matt started hoping that he might meet his son a few days early.

What makes the story even more special is that when they rang up to register Flynn’s birth the couple were told there was a cancellation and they could register him on January 11 (11/01/11).

Flynn is not Cat and Matt’s first son. They already have Riley, who is five years old, and Connor, 4.

And Connor, who will only share his toys with Flynn, is a very proud big brother.

He said: “It’s fun having Flynn here. When he’s bigger we’re having a girl next.”

Flynn’s arrival has not put the couple off having another baby especially as he is so well behaved.

Cat said: “It’s strange having another boy.

“I want a girl next but will probably end up having another boy so I’m even more out-numbered.

“We are really happy but just tired now.”

Matt and Cat would like to thank the midwives who delivered baby Flynn for them on New Year’s Day.
