Representatives of sports charity Inspire+, along with young ambassadors and Sports Leadership Academy students, did a bag pack at Asda in Grantham, raising over £750 in just four hours.

Inspire+ operations manager Chris Graves said: “It is phenomenal the amount of money we raised, we had an amount in our mind at the start of the day, but the generosity of Grantham’s residents blew this out of the water.” The money will be spent on providing more opportunities for volunteers to gain experience and training to benefit more young people across South Kesteven.

Inspire+ is a unique charity which receives no Government funding and strives to provide services and initiatives for primary and secondary schools to benefit the lives of young people through sport and physical activity.

The volunteers who helped the charity at the bag pack on Sunday are students from Year 9 upwards, looking to gain training and experiences in sports coaching and events to give them a headstart in their careers.

Chris said: “Inspire+ would like to express their extreme thanks to Asda and all of their customers who made donations on Sunday. This money will be put into our service and initiatives providing more opportunities for volunteers to gain experiences and training to benefit more young people across South Kesteven.”
