Bagpipes and an armchair needed for society’s production

MEMBERS of Grantham Dramatic Society are appealing for items to use in their upcoming production of ‘The 39 Steps’.

They need a set of bagpipes and an armchair.

The bagpipes will be used for a scene in which main character Richard Hannay tries to elude a band of foreign spies and finds himself on the run in Scotland.

GDS member Helen Pack said: “We don’t need to actually play the bagpipes. That can be done with a sound effect, but we do need a set of bagpipes for the character to carry.

“Unless, of course, the kind person who loans us the instrument would also like to teach our actor how to play them!”

Meanwhile, the armchair will ideally be a Chesterfield style.
