Banner flown over Grantham in support of the hospital and NHS workers

Grantham Hospital campaigners and health workers were shown support when a banner applauding the NHS was towed above the town by a light aircraft.

The flight, on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, was the idea of businessman Richard Ellingworth, the owner of Northants Aerial Advertising, to show respect for the efforts of all NHS workers during the coronavirus pandemic, and also show support for the campaign to save Grantham Hospital.

Mr Ellingworth told the Journal: "I simply wanted to show my esteem and admiration for the unbelievable amount of work the NHS has done during this unprecedented pandemic, and thought this would lift people’s spirits.”
