A barmaid at the Lord Harrowby pub has had her 14 inch long hair removed for a children’s cancer charity, and raised a staggering £2038.

Trudi Clark, 47, decided to grow her hair and raise money for the Little Princess Trust, after seeing a young fund-raiser doing the same while on holiday in Cornwall.

That was three years ago, and ever since Trudi has been growing her hair for the purpose of having it removed for the Little Princess Trust, which makes real hair wigs for children undergoing cancer treatment,

On Saturday at the pub on Dudley Road where she works, friends, family, colleagues and punters, united to raise the funds by bidding to remove sections of Trudi’s hair.

After bravely letting anyone and everyone cut off her locks, Trudi said: “It went absolutely amazingly. I’d like to thank everyone who came, and Linda and John Senior for their support and letting us hold the event at the Lord Harrowby.

“Also a big thank you to Bairds Malt for their kind donation of £200.”
