Barrowby Pre-school delighted with 'Good' Ofsted report

Barrowby Pre-school has made good progress after it received a ‘good’ grade in its latest Ofsted report.

The pre-school was told it ‘required improvement’ in June 2018, but following another visit by Ofsted last month, the report gave a good all round grade for effectiveness of leadership and management, quality of teaching, learning and assessment, personal development, behaviour and welfare, and outcomes for children.

The report said the new manager is ‘dynamic and forward thinking’. It said: “The staff provide a welcoming, well-resourced and nurturing learning environment where children increase their independence and self-confidence.”

The report also said the children “are extremely happy and settled at the pre-school” and “partnerships with parents are good”.

Manager Louise Rinkert, who joined the pre-school just four days before the inspection, said: “We are very pleased. It was a good start to the year. It’s a new year, new manager, new start.”
