An almost new bicycle worth about £1,000 has been stolen from outside a property in Grantham, one of several taken in recent weeks.

The ladies’ sky blue Giant bicycle was stolen in Sandcliffe Road. Police say a number of bikes have been stolen in the area recently.

Police say two more bikes stolen recently from the east side of town are a man’s red and white road racing bike and a ladies’ black Carrera hybrid.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police said: “Please make sure you do not leave bikes out in the warm weather. It can take seconds for them to go, especially as bike crime is so high at the moment. Always lock your bike or put it away out of sight. Please be vigilant and if you see anything suspicious ring 101 or your local neighbourhood policing team.”
