Biker dies after collision with tractor on A607 Rearsby bypass

A motorcyclist has died after a crash with a tractor on the A607 Rearsby bypass.

The 33-year-old was riding a black and white Kawasaki bike when it collided with a red Massey Ferguson tractor towing a trailer at about 4.15pm yesterday (Saturday).

The Kawasaki rider sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor was uninjured.

A 17-year-old was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. He has been bailed.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the crash to come forward. The Kawasaki was travelling along the A607 towards Leicester from the direction of Melton. The tractor was coming out of an entrance onto the A607 when the collision occurred.
