Blacksmiths anvil and power tools stolen from Grantham properties under renovation

Police news.
Police news.

Over the last few weeks there have been several thefts from Grantham gardens, and forced entry into empty properties being renovated.

Items taken include garden ornaments, some of which are very heavy, including a blacksmiths anvil. This indicates more than one offender.

Power tools and construction equipment have also been stolen, along with fixtures and fittings either installed or awaiting installation.

Lincolnshire Police say they are interested in two vehicles in relation to thefts of this type - a Red Tata Safari SUV 4x4 vehicl, on an 04 plate, and a White Ford Transit older model Y plate.

Grantham PCSO Stuart Bowden said: “If either of these vehicles are seen in suspicious circumstances, please report the sighting via the non-emergency 101 telephone number.

“The vehicles may be seen loitering at properties during daylight hours, or persons from the vehicles may enquire about any scrap in the area.

“If you require any crime prevention advice regarding security of unoccupied renovation properties, I can be contacted by emailing stuart.bowden@lincs.pnn.police.uk or on mobile 07786 174294.”
