Bogus water board workers try to get into Dry Doddington homes

Police news.
Police news.

Police are warning householders to be vigilant after men posed as water board officials to try and gain entry to houses.

An incident was reported to the police yesterday at 2.50pm after two or three males went to a property on Main Street, Dry Doddington, saying they were from the water board and needed to turn the taps on to see if there was a blue spark,

One of the males was described as young, slim build, not very tall with a red peaked cap. No van was seen in the area but there was a white car nearby. The water board confirmed that they did not have officials working in the area at the time.

Police are warning people to be vigilant and report anything suspicious on the 101 non-emergency number, quoting incident number 268 of June 30.
