Bottesford residents offered free life-saving training

Residents in Bottesford are invited to a free defibrillator training afternoon at The Friendly Bench after one of its residents was forced to use one of the specialist devices last month.

Lyndsey Young, who launched The Friendly Bench, along with support from the Big Lottery Fund, said: “In December, I alongside some of my neighbours, was in the position where we needed to use a defibrillator (AED)

“Afterwards I felt that more people in our community needed to be aware of how to use a defibrillator.”

Aly Greenway Workplace Training kindly offered to donate a training afternoon after hearing about The Friendly Bench.

You can join them on Sunday, January 27, between 2pm and 4pm at Warwick Flats, Granby Drive. There will also be tea and cake. Lyndsay added: “We are hoping to have a good turnout from across the village including residents, preschool staff, church members, football club and youth groups.”
