Branded fashion store to open in Grantham’s George Centre this weekend
A new branded clothing store will open in Grantham on Saturday.
Avendita will open in a large unit in The George Centre. It will be the chain’s third store, following successful openings in Ashwell and Spalding, in the Springfields shopping outlet.
Brands for sale include Timberland, Michael Kors, Versace and Levi, for men, women and children.
HR and business partner Sarah Gould, who lives in Grantham, likened the branded fashion store to TK Maxx.
She said: “It will be a pop-up store for three months. If it goes OK then we’ll look at moving to a bigger unit.
“If we’ve got the right products and people know we’re there we should be able to drive footfall into the centre.
“The George Centre is really nicec and it’s got some really nice units.”
She added: “It’s nice to be able to contribute to the town and support the town. We need to support where we live. I live here and I’d like to see the town succeed.”
Avendita will be open between 9am and 5pm Monday to Saturday, and between 9am and 2pm on Sunday.
The business first set out as a wholesaler, supplying retailers with designer fashion.
It went on to open a store in Ashwell, followed in 2015 by Springfields, which have both been successful.
