AN inspirational speaker gave a talk to over 200 students and staff at Grantham College on Monday, during the college’s ‘Week of Well-being’.
The aim of the week was to encourage and promote positive steps to well-being and happiness, and speaker Matt Hampson played an integral part in that.
Matt was paralysed from the neck down after a spinal injury caused while playing rugby for the under-21 England team. His determination led to the establishment of the Matt Hampson Foundation, through which he offers hope and inspiration to young people with similar injuries.
He said: “I don’t look too far into the future or too far into the past and I set myself achievable goals, which I think is a good message to try and get out there to young people.”
Students spent this week raising money for the foundation. Activities included a 30-mile bike ride.
