Drum roll, please! We can now reveal the winners in the 2015 Grantham is Great Awards.

Shortlisted finalists in this year’s awards gathered this evening at St Wulfram’s Church to find out whether they were winners in the Journal’s annual community awards.

It was a wonderful evening enjoyed by all, and although not every finalist could win a trophy, they and every other individual and organisation nominated are winners in our eyes.

Here are your 2015 community heroes.

** Service to Sport Award

Winner: Darren Bicknell

Runners-up: Bill Berridge and Abigail Staff

** Child Achiever Award

Winners: Poppy Little-Jones, Chelsey Darby, Ben Leonard, Steven Carter and Holly Needham.

** Youth Achiever Award

Winners: William Hawkes and Hayley Milne

** Super Senior Award

Winners: Richard and Eileen Kelham

Runners-up: Trevor Leeson and David and Ursula Brown

** Community Hero Award

Winners: Tom and Janet Baker

Runners-up: Katie Bennington, Rosemary and Francis Haw, and Sharon Evans

** Community Project of the Year

Winner: Grantham Rivercare

Runners-up: Newton the Easter Bunny and his gang, Grantham Lynx Swimming Club and Grantham Passage

** Emergency Services Award

Winners: Kiki Steel and Tim Nuttall

Runner-up: Ben Selby

** Compassion in Care Award

Winner: Carl Copus

Runners-up: Grantham Hospital staff

** Best School Star

Winner: Graham Burks

Runners-up Ken Shelbourn and Karen Burrows

** Service with a Smile Award

Winner: Kevin Young

Runners-up: Nicola Meadows, Raven Harmon and Debbie O’Keefe

** Local Hero Award

Winner: Ian Selby

Runners-up: Irvin Metcalf and Grantham Disabled Children Society
