Grantham Business Club pleas for committee members

Grantham Business Club has issued a plea for committee members after its vice-chairman announced he is to stand down.

Chris England, who runs photography and video businesses, is too busy to continue as vice-chairman, which means he won’t be taking over as chairman next year.

The move was announced at last week’s meeting of Grantham Business Club among the fine surroundings of The Barn at Buckminster, which is owned by Buckminster Estates and used for weddings and corporate functions.

Chairwoman Sue Hodgson told the gathering: “His business is doing exceptionally well and sadly, he can’t be chairman next year.”

Sue, who has her own florist business, said she also won’t be chairwoman next year.

She continued: “We do need a vice-chair. You have a few months to think. It could be you. The club needs to have a chair. It needs to have a committee. We do need people happy to do that. Please have a think about it. The committee works very hard.”
