Newly formed Grantham Retailers Association (GRA) met for the second time this week, with some councillors gracing the gathering at the Jubilee Life Centre.
Councillors Ray Wootten, Mike Taylor and Jean Taylor joined retailers on Wednesday evening to hear about the new organisation’s progress, after elected members as a whole were criticised for lack of attendance at such events.
Those gathered heard how a website and customers’ loyalty card scheme are set to launch soon, and were the first to see GRA branding, including the logo pictured.
David Charles, who owns Grantham Computer Centre and who is behind GRA, encouraged people to spread the word and gather support for the group.
Speakers were Louise Hudson on the power of social media, Kevin McLoughlin and John Edgoose who talked about employee discount schemes at factory Norbert Dentressangle, Paul Adams who today (Friday) opens specialist alcohol business The Trickling Tap in Market Place, and profit-growing expert Aimee Holland.
