A NEW role at local cement plant Lafarge has been taken up by Josie Morrissey.

The 25-year-old moved from the firm’s Wales plant to its Barnstone plant to take up the position of environment, health and safety co-ordinator.

Josie said: “One of my goals is to contribute to ensure ‘zero harm’ at the site for the 50 employees. We do have a good safety record, but we must always be vigilant and strive for continuous improvements.”

Plant manager Chris Stephens said: “Josie comes to Barnstone with a string of recommendations from those who have worked with her. We look forward to settling her into our team here and to working with her, particularly on our continued drive for improved safety performance.
