Busy Grantham junction waterlogged as heavy rain continues

A Grantham town centre road prone to flooding has become waterlogged after a sustained period of heavy rain.

And with downpours set to continue all day today (Tuesday), it is likely that the junction of Barrowby Road with North Parade will worsen as the day goes on.

The junction is prone to flooding during wet weather with the drains unable to cope.

The Journal has asked Lincolnshire County Council, the local authority responsible for roads, to comment.

A yellow weather warning remains in place for Grantham today, put in place by the Met Office.

Weather experts expect rain to continue into the evening, before taking a turn tomorrow towards a dry spell with sunshine.
