Call for more pledges for giant on-line Grantham raffle

A giant on-line raffle which will support local events has already secured the support of local businesses, but more help is needed.

Raffle 31 is a fund-raising project led by Grantham businessman David Charles in aid of the Grantham Carnival and Events Group and the Grantham Journal Children’s Fund.

Raffle 31 will launch to the public at St George on the Green (April 24), one of three community events organised by the events group.

Businesses are asked to pledge a prize for the raffle or provide sponsorship.

Tickets are £2 each and the top prize is already secured - £1,000 worth of holiday vouchers from Roma Travel.

Other pledgers so far are Grantham Events Group (signed England cricket bat with Luke Wright Sussex Cricket Shirt), SKDC (four tickets to a show), Grantham Computer Centre (£100 worth of vouchers ), Nan’s Nice Cakes (voucher for a cake for any celebration), The Creation Station (£100 worth of vouchers for a Cool Party).

Sponsors so far are Jeff Dixon Plumbing and Electrical (£300), Trust Insurance (£150), Viking Signs (free promotional material), Grantham Now (free advertising).
