Calling all willing volunteers and kind-hearted businesses

Have your say

GRANTHAM Churches Together are again organising the provision of a Christmas Day dinner for elderly, infirm and people on their own, to be hosted by St Mary’s Church and co-ordinated by Churches Together.

A volunteers’ meeting is to be held on Thursday November 10 at 7.30pm at St Mary’s, to which anyone who feels that they can give help either in preparation or on the actual day, is invited to attend.

Organiser Brenda Snowball said: “Last year we were thrilled that so many willing folk offered their services, and it was wonderful to realise that people in the town were prepared to give up part of their own Christmas Day in order to cheer up those less fortunate than themselves.”

Organisers are also hoping that business people and supermarkets may respond by supporting the event with either a donation towards the cost or by providing items of food, adding that they would be grateful for any such offers. So why not share the joy, blessing and goodwill of Christmas by giving up just a little of your time?
