It was interesting to see three public notices in a recent Journal.
The two from Lincolnshire County Council described new buildings and a road closure in plain English.
The third was from South Kesteven District Council planning department, and had 65 lines of text. The subject matter was “SPD Planning Supplements Policies.”
Without a subject in plain English, how can the general public take a view on this ‘Public Consultation?’
On the recent housing allocations in the Grantham area, hardly anyone in Harlaxton knows that SKDC plans to create a new housing estate on Swinehill.
No notices have been put up in the village and when they’re in the Journal, we can’t understand the jargon. Is this deliberate?
