A car used in a Top Gear style challenge to drive to Germany and back is being raffled to raise money to help a little Grantham girl realise her dream of going to Disneyland Paris.
Three-year-old Alana Mills has been diagnosed with leukaemia and the story of her battle against cancer touched the heart of Paul Bunn, who decided he wanted to do something to help her.
Paul, who started running his business A2B Motor Sales on Trent Road in November, said: “After I saw Alana’s story on Facebook I thought it was such a good cause I had to help.
“I decided to raffle off the car which we used for the challenge. It is in good working order.”
For the challenge, people were tasked with buying a car for £500 or less. Paul bought a 1.4 Honda Civic and, with a little work and a small budget, it comfortably made it to Germany and back, as well as completing a circuit of the legendary Nurburgring.
The car, with its distinctive livery and pink wheels, is quite unique.
So far Paul has raised more than £300 with the sale of raffle tickets but his aim is to try and get the figure up to around £1,000.
Raffle tickets are £5 each and are available from A2B Motor Sales on Trent Road, or Sheila’s Cakes on Welby Street. Alternatively you can call Paul on 07931 109853.
