Mos Kalbassi is in his final month as president of the Grantham Rotary Club.

He has been a Rotarian for about 25 years and has lived in the town for over 40. Before his retirement he was the director of Padley’s food factory.

Grantham’s food industry has produced many nationally famous foods and Padley’s has been at the forefront.

It is often joked that Mr Kalbassi is the “chicken nugget man” as in 1984 he was responsible for the first nuggets to be produced in the UK.

He is also the chairman of Grantham Parkinson’s charity and Grantham College.

Mr Kalbassi said: “I’m really proud of Grantham’s history in industry and its involvement in the production of foods which are now nationally famous.”
