A former quarry site in Castle Bytham could be used to create a community shop for the village if plans are approved by South Kesteven District Council planning committee.

Peter Hinton, of Bythams Community Shop Ltd, 6 Cumberland Gardens, Castle Bytham, has submitted an application for full planning permission.

The old quarry site on Station Road is currently vacant and it is hoped to make use of the site to provide Castle Bytham with a shop, creating a new vehicular and pedestrian access and providing 11 car parking spaces.

The proposed shop would have an internal floor space of 168 square metres.

It is envisaged that the shop would employ up to eight people - two full time and six part time.

The proposed opening hours are not yet known.

Agents for the application are John Dickie Associates of Cherryholt Road, Bourne.
