There will be no state funeral for former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, said Downing Street today (8 April).
The Grantham-born baroness wil instead have a cermonial funeral with military honours, which is described as being a step below a state funeral. Nor will there be a public lying in state
Her funeral will be held at St Paul’s Cathedral, followed by a private cremation. The streets between Westminster and St Paul’s will reportedly be cleared for the procession.
