Children aged 8 and under can swim for free at Grantham leisure centre from the new year
Children aged eight and under will be entitled to swim for free at The Meres leisure centre in Grantham from January 1.
Local children will swim for free at Grantham as well as Deepings Leisure Centre, Stamford Leisure Pool and Bourne Leisure Centre in an initiative by 1Life.The initiative is available during any 'general swim' or 'family swim' sessions.
Children can register for free swimming now. To take advantage of free swimming there is a £1 registration fee and children must be accompanied by an adult. The initiative doesn’t include 1Life swimming lessons via SwimSchool.
SKDC cabinet member for growth, Coun Helen Goral, said: “We are committed to improving leisure opportunities across the district for our residents and visitors. Being active is not only good for you physically, but also has benefits for mental health.
“By encouraging and enabling children to be active in a way that is also good fun, we are investing in our future generations. Well done to 1Life for this initiative.”
