Grantham’s Aldi store is affected by a product recall made following the discovery of salmonella in a batch of chocolate.

The store has recalled 200g packs of Choceur Treasures, which are whole hazelnuts coated in waffle and milk chocolate, with a best before date of September 1, 2015.

A spokesman said the batch was sold in the Midlands region only, in towns and cities including Grantham, Birmingham, Worcester, Leicester, Derby, Nottingham, Wolverhampton and Coventry.

The Food Standards Agency is warning people not to eat the product and asks them to return to the store.
