A dog rescue centre in the Vale of Belvoir has won a Christmas delivery of 50 dogs’ dinners.

Bravo Working Dog Rescue in Knipton received countless entries via social media after food maufacturer Webbox invited the public to help them deliver 1,000 meals to homeless dogs across the UK.

Julie Butcher, marketing manager at Webbox, said: “After some heart-warming entries from the Grantham community, we just had to get some across to Bravo.

“We want to thank each and every person who selflessly took time out to nominate these deserving homes, and ultimately supported us in making this special delivery.”

Bravo Working Dog Rescue currently houses seven homeless dogs with a further two in foster care.

Debbie Connolly, founder of the shelter, describes how they were really taken aback by the #DogsDinner initiative.

She said: “We obviously heavily rely on kind donations like this; and the fact we can give the dogs a truly nutritious and wholesome Christmas dinner this year makes a huge difference.”
