Ancaster Church of England Primary School has gone from ‘good’ to ‘outstanding’ in its latest church schools’ inspection report.

The National Society Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools was full of praise for the school, stating: “Christian values impact strongly on all aspects of daily life in this happy, inclusive and deeply caring school.”

Inspector Jackie Sheldrake noted how pupil numbers have significantly grown since the last inspection, with two additional classrooms being built as well as other areas of refurbishment taking place.

She continued: “The headteacher’s leadership and vision in promoting and strengthening the Christian foundation of the school is outstanding. In this he has the full support and encouragement of the governing body and deputy headteacher.

“Together, with senior leaders and members of staff, they work with commitment and energy to realise the school’s mission and aims. High quality teaching and learning experiences ensure that achievement and progress throughout the school is at a high level.”

She added: “The school enjoys close and mutually supportive links with St Martin’s Church.”

Headteacher Sam Eden said: “I am absolutely delighted with the Outstanding outcome of the inspection and the way the report effectively captures our school. We have worked incredibly hard over the past few years to ensure that the provision on offer to every child in school is the best it can possibly be.

“Everyone connected to the school is thrilled as this judgement is the culmination of the hard work and efforts of all involved with the school”.
