Colsterworth WI is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year and to mark the milestone members planted 1,000 crocus bulbs which have since bloomed to spell out WI 1917-2017.

The group was the first in the Lincolnshire South Federation. It will also mark its milestone with a party in August to which the national chairman will be invited and a dinner on the group’s founding day in November.

A rowan tree will also be planted in the village. Pictured with the crocuses are members Helen Scorror, Kathy Atter, Lynne Patte, Janet Bennett, Dot Williams, Sandra Quinsee and Gillian Dexter.
