Comedian Jimmy Carr entertained a packed Meres Leisure Centre on Friday Night with his Gagging Order tour.
Despite an unusual start with a couple being removed by security for talking at the stage after every joke, and a few sound problems, prompting a ‘one, two, one, two’ to test the microphone, the gig was soon back on track with a joke about his accounting skills.
If you are easily offended, most of the jokes would not be for you but the Grantham audience laughed along throughout the entire show, which went on later than expected to make up for the interruptions at the start.
Although there was further audience interaction, it was nice that Carr did not pick on any unwilling participants.
One of the best moments of the gig was when he got two audience members up on stage to do a role play with him. Instead of the awkwardness expected, the pair stole the laughs, showing that the town definitely has talent.
