Consultation? Hardly

Public engagement, public conversations, public consultation.

Anyone notice a pattern emerging from our public services, such as the Post Office and health services locally?

ULHT is the latest to follow the pattern of using euphemisms pretending to offer choice, yet who have already declared their intention/suggestion to make Grantham A&E an urgent treatment centre. As a well-known comic character would say: “Consultation my a**e!”

So when a Grantham and district woman experiences unforeseen complicated birth issues, fearful children are seriously ill or our ageing population get their heart attacks or strokes, the ‘golden hour’ for treatment will be spent in an ambulance en route to Lincoln or Nottingham.

I call upon our CCG (who control purse strings for the commissioning of services) leader ‘Dr Dave’ to leave ULHT, as it seems is being considered, for the sake of around 100,000 patients and their families in this hospital catchment area, and set us up as an independent hospital.

Our lives are at stake!
