The Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service (LCVS) will run free and informal get-togethers in Grantham and Boston to highlight volunteering opportunities.

Marie Chapman, LCVS senior volunteering officer, said: “We know taking the first step into volunteering can be daunting.

“Sometimes people are low in confidence, can’t imagine what they have to offer or they’d like to volunteer but don’t know if there’s a suitable role for them out there.

“Our Getting Ready to Volunteer workshops are designed to help. We know everyone has something to offer and we want to help people find their perfect role.

“We know from experience that volunteering can be a massive boost to confidence and not only does it benefit organisations, it can change the lives of individuals.”

LCVS Getting Ready to Volunteer workshops are planned in Boston and Grantham.

The Boston workshop takes place 2pm to 4pm on Tuesday, October 27, at the Len Medlock Voluntary Centre, St George’s Road, PE21 8YB. Book a place.

The Grantham workshop takes place 10am to noon on Monday, October 19, at Guildhall Arts Centre, St Peter’s Hill, NG31 6PZ. Book a place.

LCVS is a registered charity with teams in Boston, South Holland, South Kesteven and East Lindsey. The organisation works to help community-minded individuals and groups to get established, achieve their goals and flourish through providing support with paperwork and governance, resources, sourcing funding and finding and training volunteers. In addition, LCVS’s health trainers work with individuals to help them kick bad habits and get on the path to better health.
