Councillor will attend Belvoir Hunt but not as mayor

The Mayor of Grantham will attend this year's traditional Belvoir Hunt meet on Boxing Day but not in an official capacity.

Councillor Adam Stokes says he will go to the event on Boxing Day as a citizen of Grantham. The meet takes place at 11am at Riverside Pastures, off Stonebridge Road.

Last year the hunt met at Riverside Pastures after the Mayor of Grantham, Coun Lynda Coutts, refused to meet it on St Peter's Hill. For many years it had been a tradition for the mayor to meet the hunt and its hounds outside the Guildhall with drinks.
