Grantham area defendants brought before magistrates recently include:
Neculai Gurgu, 23, of Swinegate, Grantham: admits using a Peugeot vehicle in Conduit Lane, Grantham, on December 29, without insurance. He was fined £660, ordered to pay a £66 victim surcharge and £85 costs and his driving licence endorsed with six penalty points.
Robert Samuel Auckland, 28, of London Road, Grantham: admits stealing computer games worth £39.96 from B&M Bargains on Christmas Eve last year, and stealing further games, this time worth £49.95, from the store on December 29. He also admitted two further counts of stealing computer games from the store, worth £39.96 on January 2 and worth £69.93 on January 3. He was discharged conditionally for 12 months and ordered to pay £99.90 in compensation, a £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
Michael Anthony King, 46, of Brendon Close, Gonerby Hill Foot: found guilty of driving a Range Rover without due care and attention in Bridge End Road, Grantham, on January 16. He was fined £250, ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £150 costs and his driving licence endorsed with three penalty points.
Alex McPhail, 24, of Brittain Drive, Grantham: guilty of driving a Keeway motorcycle on London Road, Grantham, otherwise than in accordance with a licence. He was fined £220, told to pay a £30 victim surcharge and banned from driving for six months due to repeat offending. McPhail also admitted stealing a Warhammer game from Boyes on January 26 and failing to surrender to Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on March 7 having been released on bail. He was ordered to pay £50 in compensation.
Konstantins Iljins, 36, of Manthorpe Road, Grantham: admits using threatening or abusive words or behaviour, assaulting a custody detention officer, assaulting a police constable and resisting a constable, all in Grantham on January 9. He was fined £240 and ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
Leon Alistair Johnson, 38, of Beechcroft Road, Grantham: admits entering The Range as a trespasser and stealing property worth £339.47 on Christmas Eve, stealing a wallet and bank cards from a Vauxhall Combo van in Sproxton on December 18, committing fraud by using a stolen Barclaycard to buy £23 worth of groceries from the Co-op in Colsterworth on December 18, committing fraud by using a stolen Santander card to buy cigarettes worth £27.09 from Jubilee Garage near Grantham, on December 18, committing fraud by using a stolen Barclaycard to buy groceries worth £3 from Ponton Main Service Station on December 18 and failing to surrender to custody at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on February 14 having been released on bail. Johnson was made the subject of a community order including a rehabilitation requirement and ordered to pay an £85 victim surcharge, £85 costs and £53.90 in compensation.
Anthony George Stephen Smith, 40, of Warmington Avenue, Grantham: guilty of driving a Skoda vehicle in Stanton Street, Grantham, on December 10 otherwise than in accordance with a licence and without insurance. He was fined £140, ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs and his driving licence endorsed with six penalty points.
Vicky Jeffries, 45, of Cottesmore Close, Grantham: admits driving a Vauxhall Corsa in Sleaford on February 25 with 112 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – the legal limit is 35mcg. She was fined £383, ordered to pay a £38 victim surcharge and £85 costs and banned from driving for 26 months.
Naim Bougatef, 33, of William Street, Grantham: admits dishonestly failing to notify South Kesteven District Council about a change of circumstances affecting entitlement to housing benefit, namely being in employment, between August 21, 2017 and March 4, 2018, and dishonestly failing to notify the Department for Work and Pensions which would affect entitlement to jobskeekers’ allowance between August 14, 2017 and February 21, 2018. Bougatef was made the subject of a community order including 120 hours’ unpaid work within 12 months, ordered to pay £4,491.72 in compensation and £110 costs.
Ashley Paul Tennick, 25, of Colne Court, Grantham: admits damaging the windscreen of a Peugeot 307 in Alexandra Road, Grantham, on March 20, and damaging a kitchen window belonging to the same woman in Woolsthorpe-by-Belvoir on March 20. He was ordered to pay £105 in compensation.
