Court round-up: Grantham area defendants face magistrates




Grantham area defendants brought before the courts recently include:

Caroline Joanne English, 30, of High Street, Osbournby: guilty of driving a Vauxhall vehicle on Somerby Hill, Grantham, on February 16 with no insurance. She was fined £660, ordered to pay a £66 victim surcharge and £85 costs and banned from driving for six months due to repeat offending.

George William Marshall, 22, of Walton Gardens, Grantham: admits using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour in Lincoln on January 20. He was fined £220 and told to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Gergana Lyubomiroua Todorova, 33, of Commercial Road, Grantham: admits using a Vauxhall vehicle in a manner in which passengers were in danger of injury, on the A1 at Grantham on July 26. She also admits using a goods vehicle when the tyre tread did not have the legal depth. She was fined £131, ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs and her driving licence endorsed with three penalty points.

Matthew Watson, 41, of no fixed address: admits being in charge of a vehicle in the McDonald’s car park on December 23 with 101 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – the legal limit is 35mcg. He was fined £120, ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs and his driving licence endorsed with 10 penalty points.

Aiden Simon Dowell, 20, of Falcon Court, Grantham: admits drunk and disorderly behaviour in Westgate, Grantham, on February 19 and, with another defendant, causing £4,200 of damage to nine vehicles in Dysart Road on the same date. He also admitted committing further offences while the subject of a conditional discharge for five theft offences. Dowell was made the subject of a community order including 100 hours’ unpaid work within 12 months and ordered to pay £750 in compensation. He was not asked to pay a victim surcharge or costs due to “lack of means”.

Jake John Taylor, 23, of Thames Road, Grantham: admits drunk and disorderly behaviour in Westgate, Grantham, on February 19 and, with another defendant, causing £4,200 of damage to nine vehicles in Dysart Road on the same date. He was made the subject of a community order including 100 hours’ unpaid work within 12 months and ordered to pay £750 in compensation.

Darrell Fottles, 58, of Bridge End Road, Grantham: admits stealing four electric toothbrush heads worth £44 from Morrisons on March 7. He was fined £50 and ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge, while detention was deemed served by time already spent in custody.

Briony Green, 26, of New Street, Grantham: admits assaulting a male by beating in Grantham on September 8. She was made the subject of a community order including a curfew between 8pm and 7am and electronic monitoring, and ordered to pay £50 in compensation and £25 towrards costs.

Paul Bruce Griffin-Teal, 55, of Sir Gilbert Greenall Court, Woolsthorpe-by Belvoir: admits five counts of contacting a person he was prohibiting from contacting by a restraining order. Messages were sent to the victim’s family to be passed on, directly to the victim and in person in a supermarket car park. He also admits committing further offences during the period of a suspended sentence order imposed for five offences of stalking and harassment. Griffin-Teall was committed to prison for 12 weeks suspended for 18 months due to the seriousness of the offences, and ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge and £85 costs. A court document states: “Defendant now accepts relationship is over.”

Tracy Marshall, 54, of Belton Avenue, Grantham: admits stealing £7,722.42 from a male between January 6, 2017, and May 4, 2018. She was made the subject of a community order including 120 hours’ unpaid work within 12 months and told to pay £3,750 in compensation.

Kyle Michael O’Connor, 26, of Thames Road, Grantham: admits stealing goods worth £10 from Morrisons on September 8 and assaulting a male by beating in Grantham on the same date. He was made the subject of a community order including a rehabilitation requirement and ordered to pay £50 in compensation and £25 towards costs.

Liam Douglas Grant, 30, of Kestrel Court, Grantham: admits driving a Nissan vehicle and failing to comply with the vehicular light signal at a pelican crossing on Springfield Road, Grantham, on August 3. He was fined £146, told to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs and his driving licence endorsed with three penalty points.
