Court round-up: Grantham area defendants are sentenced




Grantham area defendants brought before magistrates recently include:

Paul David Browne, 33, of no fixed address: admits being drunk and disorderly in Pizza Express on April 21. He was fined £40 and ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge.

Nathan Luke Squires, 25, of Westry Corner, Barrowby: admits assaulting a police constable and causing damage to a police cell at Grantham Police Station, both on March 24. He was ordered to pay £250 in compensation.

Miranda Rajca, 38, of Walton Gardens, Grantham: guilty of driving a Ford vehicle on St Peter’s Hill on December 31, 2018 without insurance. She was fined £440, ordered to pay a £44 victim surcharge and £85 costs and her driving licence endorsed with six penalty points.

Andrew James Kay, 29, of Alexandra Road, Grantham: admits stealing aftershave worth £46.99 from Boyes on March 28, stealing mascara worth £24 from Poundland on the same date and stealing a Ralph Lauren gift set worth £50 from Superdrug on March 26. He was made the subject of a community order including rehabilitation and 80 hours’ unpaid work to be carried out within 12 months and ordered to pay £96.99 in compensation.

William Barnes, 19, of Fifth Avenue, Grantham: admits being drunk and disorderly in the Market Place and assaulting a police officer on March 30. He was fined £120 and told to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £40 towards costs.

Carlos Alberto Fernandes, 39, of The Green, Fulbeck: admits driving a Honda Civic in Ancaster without due care and attention on October 16. He was fined £213, ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs and his driving licence endorsed with three penalty points.

Matthew James Thorpe, 34, of Stamford Street, Grantham: admits assaulting a woman by beating in Grantham on April 10. He was fined £150 and told to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Corey Alexander, 23, of Portrush Drive, Grantham: admits being drunk and disorderly in Market Place on March 31. He was fined £133 and ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Bradley Norman George Fowler, 21, of Brittain Drive, Grantham: admits driving a BMW 1 Series vehicle in Winchester Road with 2.1 microgrammes of controlled drug Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol per litre of his blood, and with no insurance. He was fined £400, ordered to pay a £40 victim surcharge and £85 costs and banned from driving for 12 months.

Saul Archer, 24, of Stamford Street, Grantham: admits driving a Toyota Celica Sport in Stamford Street with 4.2mcg of Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol per litre of his blood. He was fined £214, ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs and banned from driving for 12 months.

Richard William Brown, 32, of Victoria Street, Grantham: admits damaging a wardrobe door worth £100 on April 23. He was discharged conditionally for 12 months, ordered to pay £100 in compensation, a £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Jon James William Duffy, 36, of Hudson Way, Grantham: admits sending a Caythorpe woman two cards and a text message which he was prohibited from doing by a non-molestation order, on April 2 and April 14 respectively. He was made the subject of a community order including a curfew with electronic monitoring for four weeks, plus a rehabilitation requirement, and made the subject of a restraining order prohibiting contact with the woman save via a third party to arrange child contact. He was also ordered to pay an £85 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Shaun McGurgan, 53, of Walton Gardens, Grantham: admits assaulting a woman by beating in Grantham on April 28. He was discharged conditionally for 18 months and ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Duaine Edward Asher, 38, of no fixed address: admits stealing three cases of lager worth £34 from Sainsbury’s on April 24. He was ordered to pay £34 in compensation.

Mariusz Chorab, 32, of Wharf Road, Grantham: guilty of driving a BMW vehicle in Dudley Road otherwise than in accordance with a licence and without insurance. He was fined £660, ordered to pay a £66 victim surcharge and £85 costs and banned from driving for six months due to repeat offending.

Oskars Rabovics, 36, of Kedleston Road, Grantham: admits driving a BMW vehicle in Swingbridge Road on November 19, 2018 without insurance. He was fined £660, ordered to pay a £66 victim surcharge and £85 costs and his driving licence endorsed with six penalty points.
