Court round-up: Grantham area defendants brought before magistrates
Cases brought before magistrates sitting in Lincoln recently include:
Christine Hayes, 56, of Thames Road, Grantham: guilty of failing to give information relating to the driver of a Vauxhall vehicle alleged to have been guilty of an offence, on February 5. Fined £660, £66 victim surcharge, £85 costs and driving licence endorsed with six points.
Stephen Pitcairn, 33, of Gladstone Terrace, Grantham: admits driving a Renault van in North Parade, Grantham, on May 12 after drinking so much alcohol that that there was 159 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – the legal limit is 35mcg. Also admits driving while banned from doing so through an order made by Grantham magistrates on February 11. Committed to prison for four months as the offence was so serious and due to a bad record. Ordered to pay £115 victim surcharge and banned from driving for five years.
Kyle Michael O’Connor, 24, of Thames Road, Grantham: admits stealing two pairs of shoes worth £24 from Matalan in Grantham on June 9. Discharged conditionally for nine months, £24 compensation, £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
Katie Clayton, 28, of Belvoir Gardens, Grantham: admits stealing cosmetics worth £40 from Boots in Grantham on April 7. Discharged conditionally for 12 months, £15 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
Scott Young, 44, of Ash Close, Grantham: denies assaulting a woman by beating in New Street on June 12, and again in Watergate on the same date. Also faces a charge of breaching a bail condition not to contact a named woman by any means, made by Lincoln magistrates on July 14. Remanded on bail to appear at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on September 8.
Adrian James Lagdon, 32, of Dysart Road, Grantham: admits having in his possession 50ml of class A drug methadone in Dysart Road on February 3. Fined £50 and £20 victim surcharge.
John David Lawrence, 45, of Purcell Close, Grantham: admits driving an Audi A4 in Morkery Lane, Castle Bytham, on June 19 after consuming so much alcohol that there was 76mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath – the legal limit is 35mcg. Fined £500, £50 victim surcharge, £85 costs and banned from driving for 16 months.
Keia Dean Hull, 21, of Redcross Street, Grantham: admits failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis having been suspected of driving a vehicle while over the drink-drive limit in Grantham on June 18, driving a Vauxhall Astra in Park Road and North Street with no insurance and otherwise than in accordance with a licence on June 17, and failure to surrender to custody on July 21 having been released on bail on June 18. Fined £150, £30 victim surcharge, £85 costs and banned from driving for 18 months.
Jay Dean James, 42, of Stonemasons Court, Grantham: accused of driving a Peugeot vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence, with no insurance and with no test certificate, all on the A52 at Grantham on September 12. Adjourned to Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on October 3.
Leah Beverley Brindley, 27, of Thames Road, Grantham: admits keeping a motor vehicle on Thames Road while not licensed. Fined £80 and ordered to pay vehicle excise back duty of £72.50.
Craig James Sefton, 30, of Princess Drive, Grantham: admits driving an Audi vehicle on the A15 at Caenby Corner with no insurance on June 14, 2015. Fined £470, £47 victim surcharge, £85 costs and banned from driving for six months.
Jamie Winnard, 31, of Harris Way, Grantham: guilty of failing to give information relating to the driver of a Lexus vehicle alleged to have been guilty of an offence, on February 26. Fined £660, £66 victim surcharge, £85 costs and driving licence endorsed with six points.
Ben Chapi, 41, of Dudley Road, Grantham: guilty of driving a Volkswagen vehicle in New Beacon Road, Grantham, on October 20, 2015, with no insurance. Fined £200, £20 victim surcharge, £85 costs and driving licence endorsed with six points.
Sonya Kidd, 41, of Beechcroft Road, Grantham: guilty of having in her possession 13.97g of class B drug methylmethcathinone with intent to supply and a quantity of cash in Grantham on June 8, 2015, and supplying methylmethcathinone to another between May 24 and September 15, 2015. Committed to Lincoln Crown Court for sentencing. Remanded on unconditional bail.
Leanne Sarah Seymour, 29, of Launder Terrace, Grantham: denies using threatening or abusive words or behaviour in Launder Terrace, Grantham, on April 12, and damaging a Range Rover at the railway station in Grantham on the same date. Also denies damaging an internal flat door in Launder Terrace on May 18. Remanded on unconditional bail to appear at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on August 24.
Grant John Morley, 27, of Sixth Avenue, Grantham: admits having in his possession class B drug cannabis and class A drug cocaine in Pickworth Close, Grantham, on January 9. Fined £155, £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
Daniel Phillip Burton, 24, of Alexandra Road, Grantham: admits harassing a woman by sending a number of emails and a Facebook message between June 12 and June 20. Restraining order made prohibiting contact with the victim, fined £120, £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
