Court: Supermarket razor blade thief had knife

Stealing razor blades from a town supermarket landed a 50-year-old woman in court.

Debra Smith of Granville Street, Grantham, was seen on CCTV along with another male attempting to break open the sealed plastic containing Gillette razor blades.

The pair spent ten minutes breaking into the containers before attempting to leave with £60 worth of razor blades.They were stopped and arrested by police. Smith also had a knife in her pocket.

Smith pleaded guilty attempted theft and possession of a bladed article. She was sentenced to a 12-month community order including supervision by the Probation Service.

She must also pay a £60 victim surcharge.
