AFTER the official launch of the £1.6m facelift to the Market Place, it certainly has improved the area. Whether business will improve is another matter.
On Thursday, February 16, while walking through, I was amazed to see a huge refuse lorry standing on the paving loading commercial waste containers.
The vehicle had run up the kerbs and parked approximately 1.5m from the shop fronts, then would need to run off, fully laiden. Previously we had large delivery vans parked half on the road, half on the paving. The question must be: why did no-one consider facilities and access?
Soon we will have some very expensive crazy paving. Who will pick up the repair bill - guess who?
