A MAN who breached his bail was sentenced to one day sitting in the back of the court.

Paul Bostock, of Larch Close, Grantham, failed to attend court last Monday and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

After being informed of the warrant by his solicitors, he attended Grantham police station at 7am on Wednesday only to be told there was no warrant outstanding, Rob Arthur, defending, said.

He then attended the police station again on Monday morning before being brought before the court that day.

Chair of magistrates Graham Harmon said: “For the bail act offence you will serve a day’s detention in the court precinct until the end of the afternoon.”

However, Bostock was allowed to go home an hour later after telling magistrates he had learned his lesson.

Bostock, 27, also pleaded not guilty to a charge of assault by beating. He must return to court on Friday, September 14.
