A BRAWL outside a Grantham nightclub left a man with a 3cm cut to his ear which had to be glued at hospital.
Liam Grant, 22, admitted three charges of common assault.
Meanwhile, Dean Michniew, of Hazelwood Drive, Gonerby Hill Foot, admitted one charge of common assault at Grantham Magistrates’ Court.
The pair were aggressive towards the three victims when they were inside Barcode, in Westgate, but the fight did not start until they were outside, the court heard.
Magistrates were told that at one stage one of the defendants approached the first victim and said: “I don’t care how tall you are I will still knock you out.”
Then when they left the club, Grant, who was listed as having no fixed abode but told the court he was staying in Beechcroft Road, Grantham, approached one of the victims and punched him twice.
While punching him Grant managed to knock two of the victim’s friends to the ground.
Deborah Cartwright, prosecuting, said: “He was clearly the aggressor.
“He then threw a punch at the second victim and they both fell to the floor.”
The second victim kicked Grant in the head at which point Michniew punched the second victim three or four times and attempted to stamp on him.
The court heard that Michniew had said: “Don’t you dare kick him when he’s on the ground.”
The second victim and his sister suffered swelling to their faces and the first victim had to be treated in hospital for a cut to his ear.
Rob Arthur, defending, said there was something going on between the two groups before the fight.
He added that Grant did not mean to knock the woman over but he had had a significant amount of alcohol and was emotional. Michniew was sentenced to seven days in prison to run concurrently with a four-year sentence he is serving.
Grant was given an 18-month community order with a supervision and programme requirement, as well as an order to carry out 80 hours’ unpaid work.
In addition, compensation of £150 was awarded to the victims.
