CHARGES against a 48-year-old Grantham man due in court on Wednesday were dropped following his death.

David Adrian Coggin, of Harrowby Close, Grantham, had been due to appear in court to answer four shoplifting charges.

Coggin had been accused of stealing £70 worth of clothes from Matalan, groceries worth £36.22 from Asda in Grantham, air fresheners valued at £76.96 from Wilkinsons in Grantham and coffee worth £11.98 from Brobot Services in Manthorpe Road. All of the charges related to alleged offences committed in July.

A copy of Coggin’s death certificate was sent to court staff who withdrew all of the charges.
