A 68-year-old Corby Glen woman appeared at Grantham Magistrates Court today charged with stabbing him.

Maureen Lynne Handy, of Walsingham Drive, Corby Glen, is charged with unlawfully and maliciously wounding John Handy, 70, with intent to do him grievous bodily harm at their home on Friday evening.

Mrs Handy appeared in court after being held in custody since her arrest on Friday. Appearing in a plain dark sweatshirt and glasses, Mrs Handy made no plea.

Magistrates adjourned the case to Lincoln Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on November 25. Mrs Handy was granted bail on condition she did not make contact with her husband or daughter, who lives at their address, did not go to her home address except to pick up some clothing on one occasion, and in the meantime lived at her brother’s address in Rugby.
