Cases brought before magistrates sitting in Grantham and Lincoln recently include:
Mark Anthony Wilson, 36, of Edward Street, Grantham: accused of stealing two ratchets worth £42.99 belonging to Halfords in Grantham on June 20, stealing electrical and other items worth £50 from The Range in Grantham on June 25 and stealing bedding worth £99.99 from Dunelm Mill in Grantham on June 18. Remanded on bail to appear at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on July 18.
Jamie Lee Lowis, 28, of Gorse Road, Grantham: guilty of failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a BMW vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence, on October 12, 2015. Fined £660, £66 victim surcharge, £85 costs and disqualified from holding a licence for six months due to repeat offending.
Adrian Gowen, 49, of Muston Road, Grantham: guilty of driving a Honda motor vehicle on Muston Road otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and without insurance, both on December 2, 2015. Driving record endorsed with six penalty points, fined £660, £66 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
Craig Morris, 33, of Beechcroft Road, Grantham: accused of failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a Mercedes vehicle on January 12, and of driving a Mercedes vehicle on the A52 between its junctions with Church Lane, Welby and Dembleby at a speed exceeding 50mph on December 9, 2015. Referred to Lincoln Magistrates’ Court to appear on September 20.
Jake Taylor, 20, of Thames Road, Grantham: guilty of driving a Honda motorcycle on Huntingtower Road, Grantham, on December 7, 2015 with no insurance. Fined £120, £20 victim surcharge, £85 costs and driving licence endorsed with six penalty points.
Joel Limburn, 22, of Kings Holme Road, Gloucester: accused of using threatened unlawful violence within a group at Twyford Wood near Colsterworth on May 24, 2015, and obstructing a police constable in the execution of his duty. Sent for trial at Lincoln Crown Court on July 27.
Timothy McDonald, 38, of Kinoulton Court, Grantham: admitted failing to comply with a community requirement of a suspended sentence order made by Grantham Magistrates’ Court on April 7 by failing to attend appointments, provide acceptable explanations and maintain contact with his offender manager. Suspended sentence of imprisonment of four weeks – for original offence of stealing homeware and clothing worth £447.41 from Asda in West Bridgford on February 11, 2015 – implemented.
Danny Duffy, 33, of Braithwaite Avenue, Keighley, Bradford: denies having a kitchen knife with a 20cm blade in Kinoulton Court, Grantham, on May 19, and using threatening or abusive words or behaviour in Harlaxton Road on the same date. Adjourned to Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on July 13.
Christopher Matthews, 46, of Gonerby Road, Grantham: guilty of driving a Mercedes vehicle on Gonerby Road at a speed exceeding 30mph on October 10, 2015. Fined £135, £20 victim surcharge, £85 costs and driving licence endorsed with three penalty points.
Sean Kelly Smith, 48, of Range Road, Grantham: sent verbal communication to another male that was grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character on July 22, 2015. Fined £160, £20 victim surcharge and £300 costs.
Andrew David Robinson, 29, of Water Lane, Ancaster: guilty of stealing a pedal cycle in Grantley Street, Grantham, on April 25. Discharged conditionally for eight months and a £20 victim surcharge.
Miss Katie Clayton, 28, of Belvoir Gardens, Grantham: accused of stealing cosmetics worth 40 from Boots in Grantham on April 7. Adjourned to July 18 at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court.
Carl John Copus, 45, of Avon Close, Grantham: admitted driving a Hyundai vehicle in Springfield Road, Grantham, on March 24 while unfit to drive through drink, and being the driver of said vehicle who failed to stop when an accident occurred and damage was caused to another vehicle. Community order made, £60 victim surcharge, £85 costs and disqualified from driving for 48 months.
Liam Dickson, 26, of Walton Gardens, Grantham: admitted failing to comply with requirements of a community order made at Grantham Magistrates’ Court on October 8, 15, by failing to attend appointments, provide an acceptable explanation and maintain contact with his offender manager. Unpaid work requirement removed and replaced with a four-month curfew with electronic monitoring.
Jason Barry Creaser, 43, of no fixed abode: denies assaulting a woman by beating in Central Place, Grantham, on March 15. Remanded on bail until July 27 to appear at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court, with conditions not to contact the alleged victim nor to go to Central Place. Also accused of breaching a bail condition, namely not to enter Central Place nor communicate with an alleged victim.
Matthew Robert Parsons, 48, of Derwent Road, Grantham: admitted stealing a pedal cycle in Grantley Street, Grantham, on April 25. Conditionally discharged for eight months, £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
